Listed here are the most likely Breathwork variations that may be offered at Mindful Breath and Body events. See the calender for any upcoming event dates!

Holotropic Breathwork

Mari is certified in a modality of Breathwork called Holotropic. Holotropic means “moving towards wholeness.” Since 2005, she has been hosting sacred space for others to access a doorway and seek guidance from their own inner healing wisdom. Holotropic Breathwork is a practice where one uses deep and fast breathing to access inner guidance or open the energy flow (the qi) in the body. The Holotropic Breathwork model utilizes the breath and music to access an altered state. A very important component to doing Holotropic Breathwork is the space in which it’s contained with the intention to foster more energetic openness along with a sense of trust and safety.
The Traditional Holotropic Breathwork model is an all day workshop consisting of two 2-hour music sessions played. One person will breathe in a session and the other person will sit. These roles will switch for 2nd session. Mandala Drawing is available after each music set. A circle group sharing will begin and end the day.

Experiential Breathwork

This breathwork is a version of the Holotropic model. The intention is to provide the work for those interested and unable to commit to a full day. These experiential breathwork sessions can also be a great introductory to the deep and fast breathing and/or provide the necessary material for one’s healing or growth. Everyone breathes at the same time in this model and the music lasts anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes.

Wim Hof Breath

Wim Hof Breathwork is a great modality for daily exploration. This may be an introduction to prepare for the longer sessions of Experiential or Holotropic Breathwork.

Kundalini Yoga Breathing

There are many styles of breath in Kundalini Yoga that are related to opening the bodies energy meridians or chakra centers. Mari completed the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in 2011.
